How the onion levy works
Growers pay $2 dollars for every tonne of onions which leaves the farm gate and the money is collected by the levy revenue service. $1.60 of that levy is spent on research and development designed to lift productivity and profitability.
OnionSTAT
OnionSTAT is an online information collection and management system that has been customised for the Australian onion industry. In the future it will hold a broad range of information to assist industry participants in their business operations. At this time, the focus of OnionSTAT is on the collection of monthly planting, forecast and production data from grower/ packers in the major production regions.
